Charlotte Bauer was born in the UK and moved to South Africa with her family as a teenager, where she completed almost a year of college before finding her calling as a journalist. She has worked variously as a profile writer, columnist and editor at the South African Sunday Times and counts interviewing Nelson Mandela by mistake as a career highlight. She is a founding member of the Mail & Guardian newspaper, and a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. She lives between Johannesburg and France, quite often with her husband. HOW TO GET OVER BEING YOUNG is her first book.
