Helen Louise Foster was born in the East Midlands. She studied Drama and English in London before moving to Edinburgh to pursue a career in the heritage sector. She has worked in interpretation and education in stately homes and archives and gained an MA in Heritage Studies along the way. She also taught English and Drama in secondary schools for a few years.
Her fiction has been published in Mslexia and presented at the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
She has recently returned to the East Midlands and is studying for a PhD in Creative Writing for which she won an AHRC-funded scholarship.
