Karen Russell, a native of Miami, is the author of the novel SWAMPLANDIA!, and the short story collections, ST. LUCY’S HOME FOR GIRLS RAISED BY WOLVES and VAMPIRES IN THE LEMON GROVE, all published by Chatto & Windus. She was featured in The New Yorker’s debut fiction issue, was chosen as one of Granta’s Best Young American Novelists in 2007, and was named one of best 20 under 40 writers by The New Yorker. In 2009, she received the 5 Under 35 Award from the National Book Foundation for excellence in fiction writing for writers under 35 years of age, and she was awarded the 2011 Bard Fiction Prize. Her short fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, Oxford American, Zoetrope and Conjunctions. Three of her short stories have been selected for the BEST AMERICAN SHORT STORIES volumes. Her latest novel, SLEEP DONATION, was published by Chatto & Windus UK in Sept 2020.
