Lucy Atkins is an award winning British author and journalist. She has written four novels, most recently MAGPIE LANE (2020), and seven non-fiction books, two of which have won national awards. Many of her books are published internationally and her last novel, THE NIGHT VISITOR (2017) has been optioned for television.
Lucy has a background in literary and feature journalism. She judged the Costa Book Awards and is a regular book critic for The Sunday Times. She has worked at the Times Literary Supplement and has written reviews and features for UK newspapers including The Guardian, The Times, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, and many UK magazines.
Lucy teaches creative writing to Master’s students at Oxford University, and has chaired events at literary festivals including Cheltenham Literature Festival, Charleston Festival and Oxford Literary Festival. She has a First Class degree from Oxford University and was a Fulbright Scholar to the USA. She has lived in Philadelphia, Seattle and Boston and is now based in Oxford, UK.
