Nick Fisher is a BAFTA award-winning scriptwriter whose recent TV credits include HUSTLE, HOLBY CITY and NEW TRICKS. He created and wrote the BBC series MANCHILD, and penned the screenplay to Columbia Tristar’s teen comedy VIRTUAL SEXUALITY. His latest play, BASKET CASE, starring Nigel Havers, is currently touring the UK.
Nick’s career has many facets, and he has been a journalist for over 25 years, holding positions ranging from the agony uncle for Just Seventeen to the fishing correspondent of the Shooting Times. He is the UK’s foremost fishing commentator, and wrote and presented the Channel 4 series SCREAMING REELS and BBC Five Live’s fishing show DIRTY TACKLE. As if that wasn’t enough, Nick also teamed up with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall to co-author THE RIVER COTTAGE FISH BOOK.
Nick Fisher regularly gives talks and runs workshops on the art of writing for the screen, and has hosted the River Cottage ‘Catch and Cook’ courses.
