Benjamin Wood was born in West Lancashire in 1981 and grew up in Merseyside. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, Canada, which he attended with the support of a Commonwealth Scholarship.
His first novel THE BELLWETHER REVIVALS was shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award and the Commonwealth Book Prize in 2012, and won France’s Prix du Roman Fnac in 2014. His second novel THE ECLIPTIC was shortlisted for the Encore Award in 2015 and was a finalist for the Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer of the Year Award in 2016. His third novel A STATION ON THE PATH TO SOMEWHERE BETTER will be published by Scribner in June 2018.
He teaches creative writing at King’s College London and lives in Surrey with his family.
