Charles Elliott’s essays have appeared in a number of American and British magazines. Before his retirement he was a journalist and a book editor with the American publisher Alfred A. Knopf, Inc. He moved to London from New York in 1985 and has lived here since, gardening at a house in the Welsh Marches. Among his books (all published by Frances Lincoln) are THE TRANSPLANTED GARDENER, THE POTTING SHED PAPERS, and MORE PAPERS FROM THE POTTING SHED, along with a number of anthologies, the most recent of which is THIS IS THE GARDEN.
