Charlie Ryrie
Charlie trained as a journalist before taking two university degrees, and then working mainly as a feature writer and editor for many years, specialising in gardening and ecology. She grew up on a farm and is happiest outside. She lived for several years off the grid and has always believed passionately in environmental sustainability.

In 2002, despite knowing nothing about floristry, she started planting flowers and founded the first business in the UK to send out entirely home-grown bouquets of organically grown garden flowers on the wild side. She continues to produce glorious flowers for many events each year from her relaxed and generous gardens.

Charlie lectures both in person and online, and is currently working on The Wild Cutting Garden. This timely book comes from her experience, and demonstrates ways to work with nature to create beautiful, low-maintenance and highly productive gardens full of birds and insects as well as flowers.
