David Wright is a third generation baker from Suffolk, England. His culinary career has seen him collect numerous awards for his baking and supply some of the world's most prestigious stores and clients, these include Harrods, Selfridges and The V&A as well as individuals such as YouTube deity PewDiePie.

David writes for Sandwich Magazine and his first book BACKYARD BAKING (Quadrille, 2023) deals with the interplay of baking and live fire. Somewhat of a dimestore Forest Gump, David has performed many roles aside from baking and food writing. He has worked with theatre companies such as The Globe, Punchdrunk and The Old Vic as well as compering the literary tent at Camp Bestival and hosting The YBF's (Young British Foodie Awards). He once ran the lights and sound on a theatre show at The Menier Chocolate Factory with no experience and similarly took a job as a lighting gaffer - all ending in, at best, mild compliance. Advertising copywriter, stand-up comedian, farm hand, set builder, contractor, food safety manager, the list goes on. The unifying thread is a passion for people and what makes them tick, their stories, experiences and lessons.

David is passionate about food and farming but also has deep affection for sports including cricket (especially village cricket). A keen traveller, loves a road trip and father to three great kids. He lives in Woodbridge with his wife, Billie and is happy being bossed around down at the allotment, making fruit cages, carrying compost and filling the watering can.
