Eleanor Maidment is the Food Editor of the multi award-winning Waitrose Food magazine, a position she has held for the last 7 years. She develops and styles recipes, writes about food and travel, and has contributed to numerous other websites, books and magazines.
While studying Social Anthropology at Edinburgh University she wrote her dissertation on the anthropology of food. She has worked as a chef, and spent many years on the editorial team at Square Meal restaurant guide and website, reviewing restaurants and interviewing chefs. In 2010 she graduated from Leiths School of Food & Wine with distinction.
Her greatest pleasure is teaching people simple recipes and techniques that can change the way they eat and cook. Her food is accessible, honest and packed with colour and flavour, and her approach is very much about inclusion – trying new things, and expanding our diets to make them as rich as possible.
CALIFORNIA: LIVING + EATING was published by Hardie Grant in 2019.
