L. A. MacRae was born in St Andrews, Scotland. After living in the Outer Hebrides and the south of Ireland, she worked at Edinburgh’s School of Scottish Studies, researching oral history and traditional music.
Her writing explores themes of family, testimony, and memory at the edge of recollection.
AND NOW THE LIGHT IS EVERYWHERE, her first novel, was longlisted for the Caledonian Novel Award 2021 and will be published by Hodder & Stoughton in 2024.
