Rageshri Dhairyawan is a doctor, researcher and science communicator. Born in Mumbai, she was brought up in Essex and is now based in London.

Rageshri is an NHS Consultant in Sexual Health and HIV Medicine. Her research has been published widely and cited in national guidelines. She has held national policy and charity roles and is an internationally known speaker on health equity.

Rageshri is an experienced science communicator for general and specialist audiences. She has written for The Lancet, BMJ Leader and Media Diversified and has appeared on The Victoria Derbyshire Show, BBC Woman’s Hour, BBC World Service and BBC Sounds, amongst others. Rageshri has contributed an essay to the anthology No One Talks About This Stuff, to be published by Unbound in 2024.

Rageshri’s own experiences of being unheard as a patient and her work with minoritised communities, have inspired her to speak up about injustice in healthcare. She is an inaugural Wellcome Collection x Spread the Word awardee 2022, where she was supported to write a proposal for her debut non-fiction book on how people go unheard in healthcare, and what can be done to address this.
