Viviane Schwarz is an award-winning artist and author working in a variety of media to create playful, interactive experiences that encourage creativity.
Her books are available internationally and she has been shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway medal, the Roald Dahl Funny award and a British Comics Award, and she was one of the winners of the 2011 Booktrust Best New Illustrators Award. Her book with Alexis Deacon, I AM HENRY FINCH, won the Little Rebels Children’s Book award in 2016, and her illustrations for the book earned her a place on the International Board on Books for Young People’s UK Honour List 2018.
Viviane also runs workshops about art, technology and design; she builds and runs games and interactive installations at international festivals, most recently a maze built from 200 metres of corrugated cardboard that ran on South Bank and at the Playful Arts Festival in Holland, and an interactive haunted room at Somerset House, London.
