John O'Connell was born in 1972. A former Literary Editor at Time Out, he is now freelance, writing mainly for The Times and The Guardian. He lives in south London with his wife and two daughters.
John is the author of I TOLD YOU I WAS ILL: ADVENTURES IN HYPOCHONDRIA, and THE MID-LIFE MANUAL (co-written with Jessica Cargill Thompson), both published by Short Books.
His first novel, THE BASKERVILLE LEGACY, was published in September 2011, and he has most recently written THE BOOK OF SPICE for Profile (October 2015).
