Netflix to develop Lucy Clarke's novel THE SURF HOUSE into thrilling TV adaption

Set in a surfer's paradise in Morocco, THE SURF HOUSE is anything but idyllic. Hidden beneath sunshine and waves is a mystery, and when Bea washes in, seeking refuge after a dangerous encounter in Marrakesh, she soon gets caught in the current. A woman her age disappeared one year earlier, vanishing without trace. They stayed in the same area, walked the same beaches, met the same guests, and she was seen for the final time in The Surf House.

The adaptation is being developed by the Netflix US team, and it is being directed by Ed Lilly, director of Industry and Tell Me Lies.

This will be the fourth book of Lucy Clarke’s to be adapted for screen. Two of her novels have been made into Paramount+ shows, The Castaways starring Sheridan Smith and No Escape, while The Hike was optioned by Studiocanal-backed Urban Myth Films.
