Sonya Vatomsky is the author of poetry collection SALT IS FOR CURING, an active member of the Horror Writers Association, and a former journalist with bylines in Smithsonian Magazine, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times. In 2024, they were shortlisted for the PFD Queer Fiction Prize and a finalist for the Best of the Net Anthology.

Sonya was born in the Soviet Union and raised in the United States, where they studied Linguistics and Finnish at the University of Washington. They live in Manchester, England with their spouse and an ancient cat.
