Vedashree Khambete-Sharma

Vedashree Khambete-Sharma is the author of the comic novel THERE MAY BE AN ASTERISK INVOLVED (Hachette India) and the creator of Avantika Pandit, the sassy, crime-curious reporter who stars in the comic thrillers SWEAR YOU WON’T TELL? (HarperCollins India) and FATAL MISTAKES (Harper Black India). Her latest novel, WHAT WILL PEOPLE THINK? Was published by Corvus in November 2024.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in English Language & Literature, a post-graduate diploma in Communication Management and an uneasy sensation when she refers to herself in the third person. She has freelanced for several reputed Indian publications, hosted a parenting podcast called Who’s Your Mommy? and even won a silver medal in Shankar’s International Competition, for a poem titled Mathematics.

Vedashree funds her irresponsible writing habit by working in advertising, and in the course of an 18-year-old career has won numerous Indian and international awards for her copywriting.

She lives in Mumbai with her husband, her daughter and the sounds of traffic.
